Virtual Challenge

Do I have to pay to join in the event?

No. Registration is free for the NHG22 WALK • RUN • CYCLE MOVEMENT event, including the 50km virtual challenge.

The Event is open to  members of the public and staff of the National Healthcare Group (NHG).

Is there an age limit for the Virtual Challenge?

No. NHG22 WALK • RUN • CYCLE MOVEMENT is a virtual challenge that seeks to promote healthy living in the community, and is open to all ages to participate.

Is there a limit to the number of participants for the Virtual Challenge?

No. There is no limit to the number of participants. However, availability of the Event T-Shirt for all registered participants and Finisher Medal for participants who complete the 50km Virtual Challenge is while stocks last.

What are the event categories I can join for the Physical Finale Event?

There will be a 2km community walk and a 5km competitive race for Individual Men’s, Individual Women’s and Team race categories.

NHG staff and members of the public can participate in the 2km community walk.

Only NHG staff are eligible to sign up for the 5km Individual Men’s, Individual Women’s and Team categories.

I have collected my event T-shirt but the size does not fit well. Can I exchange it?

As the Event T-shirts are pre-ordered, changes in sizes are strictly not allowed in the interest of public health.

I am a NHG staff and my family member would also like to participate in the event. Can I collect my family member’s T-shirt on their behalf?

Family members of NHG staff are welcome to register for the NHG22 WALK • RUN • CYCLE MOVEMENT event as members of the public. They would have to collect the T-shirts (while stocks last) and finisher medals (while stocks last), if eligible, at our roadshows which are listed here .

I do not stay in Singapore, can I still participate in the Virtual Challenge?

No. This event is only available to participants present and residing in Singapore during the Challenge period.

How do I know if my registration is successful?

A confirmation email will be sent to you upon successful registration, and you will be required to log in to the Event website to start tracking your Walk/Run/Cycle activities.

What should I do if I do not receive the confirmation email?

The confirmation email may have been blocked by your email server or is treated as a spam email. If you do not receive the email within 5 days of registering or are unable to locate the email in your ‘Spam’ folder, please contact us at nhg_getmoving@nhg.com.sg.

What are the approved GPS running app?

All GPS-based apps are accepted.

How do I submit my distance/activity for the Virtual Challenge?

Once the Virtual Challenge starts, you can log in into your event account on the website, and begin submitting your activity session.  The deadline for submission is 30 October 2022, 1100 hours.

Physical Finale Event

When will the Physical Finale Event be held?

The Physical Finale Event will be held on 30 October 2022 (morning) at Silver Garden at Gardens by the Bay.

Where can I find the programme for the Finale Event?

Do I have to pay to join the Finale Event?

No. Registration for the NHG22 WALK • RUN • CYCLE MOVEMENT Finale Event, including the 2km Community Walk and the 5km Individual Men’s, 5km Individual Women’s and 5km Team Race categories, is free.

Members of the public can only participate in the 2km Community Walk.

NHG staff can participate in the 2km Community Walk, or the 5km race categories.

Is there a capacity limit for the Finale Event attendance?

Yes. The number of participants will be controlled to ensure safety based on Silver Garden’s capacity.  Registration is on a first come, first served basis. We encourage you to register early for the event to secure your spot.

What if it rains?

Wet weather contingency plans will be in place for the Event. The Organisers reserve the right to delay the commencement of the Event, or cancel the Event or any part thereof in the event of inclement weather, or other hazardous conditions, prior to or on the day of the Event.

Will there be a baggage deposit point available?

No baggage deposit services will be provided on the day of the Event. Participants are encouraged to travel light and be responsible for their personal items. The Organisers shall not be responsible nor liable for any loss or damage to the Participant’s belongings that are brought by or left by the Participant in the vicinity of the Event.

What are the Safe Management Measures (SMM) implemented for the Finale Event?

All participants are required to adhere to the latest Safe Management Measures, public health requirements and any other health and safety protocols. You may be required to show proof of vaccination and/or a negative COVID-19 test prior to the event and event activities.

What happens if I am not feeling well during the Finale Event?

Please notify any of the event administrators immediately. There will be a medic on-site for the Event.

What are the requirements of the Team of 5 race category?

Participants of this 5km category need to form a team of five members from at least two NHG Institutions or business units. The ‘Team of 5’ can comprise both male and female members, or  all male, or all female members.

The team race seeks to promote camaraderie among NHG staff, and the race will be based on the time recorded for the 5th i.e. last member of the team who crosses the finish line.

Can I change my sign-up for the 2km community walk to the 5km challenge race?

You will need to be registered as a runner to get a bib number and chip for timing. Any request for changes must be made by email to nhg_getmoving@nhg.com.sg within two weeks of your registration. The event administrators will email you on the success of your request if it is within the two weeks’ time frame.

Can I change my sign-up for the 5km competitive race to the 2km Community Walk?

If you have registered for the Individual Men’s or Individual Women’s 5km race category, and wish to change, please submit your request by email to nhg_getmoving@nhg.com.sg within two weeks of your registration.

Can I sign up for the Finale Event on the day itself?

No. Prior registration for the Finale Event is required.

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes. This is a family-friendly event. We ask that you be respectful of other participants and their right of way while using the stroller in Gardens by the Bay.

Are walkers timed for the 2km Community Walk?

No. The 2km Community Walk at the Finale Event will not be timed as it is not a challenge race.

Are dogs allowed for the 2km Community Walk for the Physical Finale Event?

The turnout for the 2km Community Walk is expected to be very good. In view of limited capacity, and various reasons including the safety of our event participants, dogs will not be allowed during the Walk.
